D&D Miniatures: Archfiends expansion

This is the thirdset of the miniature game. It is due out around 26th March 2004.

It will be sold in Expansion Packs of 8 miniatures: 1 rare, 3 uncommons, 4 commons. $9.99. (The price may rise to $12.99 for this set, but we're not sure of this).

There are 60 miniatures in the Archfiends expansion

Brace yourself for a random encounter dominated by demons, devils, and other outsiders, along with a horde of heroes, villains, and monsters. Taken straight from D&D rulebooks, such as the Monster Manual, Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting, Miniatures Handbook, Psionics Handbook, and Savage Species, these characters are ready for battle -- right out of the box.

Each Archfiends expansion pack contains 8 randomly selected, prepainted, fully assembled, collectible miniatures with double-sided statistic cards for use with the D&D roleplaying game or for fast-paced head-to-head combat.

"The set also features specific iconic characters from the Forgotten Realms world, including drow elf Drizzt Do'Urden, the central figure in the New York Times best-selling series of R.A. Salvatore novels."

Figure Ability Rumours

Cleric of Bane
-His commander effect confers an Executioner's Axe-like ability on followers in range: +4 to hit and +5 damage (melee only in both instances) against out-of-command or routing models.
-He has two casts of Summon Monster III (each allowing him to summon an evil elemental or evil outsider worth 15 points). That's a good part of why he's so expensive- He brings 30 points of extra critters to the table AND they don't have to be lousy animals. FWIW, the Cultist of the Dragon and the Evermeet Wizard are the other summoners in the set.
-He also gets the Sound Burst spell for at least one of his 2nd level slots, and Magic Weapon for one of his 1st level slots.

Evermeet Wizard
-39 points
-Can summon 30 pts of critters, but for some reason, they apparently must be either water elementals or sets of 3 wolves?
-Has Mage Armor (!)
-Has Shocking Grasp, which apparently persistently boosts melee attack (description of warband states she has cast Shocking Grasp BEFORE the combat begins?).
-Is presented in a warband with Moon Elf Fighter (49)- That's one expensive CG mini, particularly if not a commander!!

Moonelf Fighter
- 49 points
-high AC
-two strong melee attacks
-a command rating of 5
-great speed
-command ability of Tactics, which makes figures that started the turn under his command not count against the two activations per phase limit
