 Death by plothook

Sometimes you can be stuck in a campaign or just searching for a plothook. In that case, try the PC's own mortality for a change. WOTC has posted a list of possibilities, from death-goggles to rich necromancers. Oh my.

 Arrr, thar be pirate trouble

WOTC posted a new journal entry detailing rumours about alleged piracy in some parts of the Eberron world.

 Campaign Cartographer (CC2) Update 8

The latest Universal Update to CC2 Pro and add-ons is now available from the Profantasy website. It includes bug fixes and new features including an updated Random Dungeon Generator for Dungeon Designer Pro. It is free to all registered users. You can download it from the registered users' area of the website. Go to their news section for more information.

 Clearing Things Up

Wizards of the Coast has released Errata for Monster Manual III and a new Official D&D FAQ. The FAQ offers mainly updated combat clarifications, mostly in respect to timing and the way specific actions flow in combat.

 Dead Man's Chest Cover Preview

Necromancer Games has posted a preview of the cover of Dead Man's Chest, an upcoming d20 supplement that covers all thing nautical in nature. It is scheduled for release in June 2005.

 Deathknell - Preview 10

The 10th preview of the upcoming Deathknell expansion for the Dungeons and Dragons mini game has been posted over at Wizards. This one focuses on the Centaur Hero.

WOTC has posted its latest installment of it's "Mounts" series, not describing the effects of mounted feats, intelligent mounts and reach. Be sure to ride on over and take a stab at the article.

 Iron Kingdoms World Guide Ships

The Iron Kingdoms World Guide by Privateer Press has shipped to distributors. The 400-page book is making its way to distributors and will be at your local game store for the March 11th street date.

 So Long, Gassy Dragons

Jason Nelson takes some time over at Wizards of the Coast to explain the fine art of making sure your players aren't shredding the mechanics of your game when they try to point out to you that there really should be a spell that does "alkali" damage, or "flesh eating bacteria damage". Any article that mentions "flesh eating bacteria damage" is a winner.

 Races of the Wild Encounter

Wizards of the Coast has posted another pseudo-preview of Races of the Wild. This time it's another Use This Book Tonight feature, starring a halfling luckstealer in ye olde halfling motor-home, the house wagon.

Submit an original D&D monster or NPC villain to me via e-mail. The monster or NPC should have a full stat block and a well written background. It should be interesting, unique and playable.  Mech Manual Released

The Mech Manual is now available from Goodman Games. According to their website, it promises to provides DragonMech players with new options and DMs with new enemies. It includes more than 50 new mechs from all known areas of the DragonMech world: the major factions of dwarves, humans, elves, orcs, and undead, as well as races that are only just not beginning to experiment with mechs, such as drow, derro, and aboleths.  Wood Elf Source Book Released

Green Ronin has released Bow & Blade, a d20 System sourcebook on wood elves. It is now available on RPGNow in PDF form.

 Return to Undermountain

Cool news for Forgotten Realms and Undermountain fans. Wizards will be updating Undermountain to the new rules and posting everying online in a series of articles. The announcement comes with an updated map of the first level of Undermountain. It is unclear how often the articles will be released, but it sounds promising. Besides, free game material is always cool.

 Temple Raid: D&D Minis Scenario

Wizards has posted a Dungeons and Dragons Miniature Game scenario called Temple Raid. It is designed for two players using 100 and 75 point warbands.

 Librarian Hosts D&D Games in Library

Nikol, a youth librarian in Glendale, Arizona has written an article about Dungeons and Dragons and her success at running game sessions in her library. The article was published in the February 2005 issue of VOYA magazine and is available on their website.

Wizards has posted the third part of "The Black Mysteries" which further expands on the Order of the Black Flame in the Forgotten Realms campaign setting.

 New Full Metal Fantasy Miniatures

Two new Full Metal Fantasy models have been announced by Privateer Press. The first one is a "Boneswarm", a skeletal mass of hate (and quite cool looking). The second is the Cygnar City Guard, perfect for filling out the details in your Iron Kingdoms campaign.

 All About Mounts - Part Three

Wizards has posted part three of their series about mounts. This issue covers the standard actions that can be performed while riding a mount. This is perhaps the meatiest article of the series yet. Definitely worth a read.

 WarMachine Satyxis Raiders Get Facelift

Privateer Press announced new sculpts of the Satyxis Raiders unit. According to PP, they feature 4 new poses, easy assembly, and will be intimidating on the battlefield. The new Cryx Satyxis Raiders Unit Box ($24.99) and Blister ($7.99) will be released in May.

Green Ronin announced that Blue Rose, the roleplaying game of romantic fantasy, is now available in PDF format on RPGNow.com.
